ConVocation is a convention of the many mystical spiritual paths and faiths who desire to teach each other and promote fellowship among all esoteric traditions.

Since 1995, this 4-day event has brought together over 100 classes and rituals presented by local instructors, internationally renowned guest speakers and authors. Along with workshops, ConVocation offers over 40 tables of merchandise in our Merchant Room, an Art Show and the largest indoor Drum Circle in the Midwest.

In our 16th annual event, held February 18-21, 2010, our theme will focus on the Tower Tarot card. Our theme is Surviving the Storm. Join us as we discover what gifts will emerge during emergencies and strengthen both our practical and magickal survival skills.

Calling all Scryers and Diviners! If you use tea leaves, coffee grounds, pendulum, tarot, bones, runes, crystal ball, stones, mirror, ashes, dominoes, dice, knife spinning, palmistry, I Ching, or any other method of divination, bring your materials and give us a short demonstration. Come see a new scrying method, get a reading, and perhaps learn something new. Compare notes with someone who practices the same method you do. Joining us will be - Tessa Pointek: Tarot, Enafae Moore: Tasseomancy (tea leaf reading), TwoSnakes: Mesa Stones, Andrieh Vitimus: Cowrie Shells, and Sapphire: Flame/Smoke and Scrying Mirrors. This class gives the tools and procedures every magician needs to have
down effectively and verified through practical results before a
situation occurs. This is coming from one magician who in his early
magical career almost ended up in the street. This class will not pull
punches and will instead focus on the magical aids to survival although
should be accompanied with some practical real world steps.

A ritual beginning with a guided journey to Elysia where participants will be given the opportunity to consult an antique mirror used for decades in ritual as well as the invoked king and queen of the other worlds. This is a very intense experience that requires guidance for young adults or the more inexperienced.

The Dissolving Edge of Darkness and the Star

This
ritual uses the dissolving aspects of the force known as Chronozon to
dissolve and destroy the idea of ourselves. This is an extremely dark,
transformative, brutal and powerful ritual. From the Abyss wonders can
be seen. The ritual will destroy our own limited self-concepts in a
brutal fashion so we may gain contact with an inner core of genius and
potential. From desert of nothing, comes the star of Inspiration.
Strobe and Lighting will be used. There will be post-ritual
decompression with people around to assist others.

Broken: Magical Techniques to Recover From Personal Trauma

Any
emotional trauma can be healed and worked if a person is dedicated
enough. Mixing practical techniques and ways of thinking, Andrieh
Vitimus talks about moving forward in the face of pain, negativity, and
sheer shock focusing both on the big picture and the practical details.
Techniques from Hands On Chaos Magic, HypnoEnergenics, NLP, and Reiki
will be woven together to help people form a plan of action for
self-transformation, movement towards joy and self-empowerment,
regardless of how devastating the issue. Emphasis on personal
responsibility, results-orientated transformation, and real world
improvement.
