Greetings

Hi,
I'm 19 years old, living with my beautiful girlfriend in Small Town, USA (which I ABSOLUTELY HATE). I like to play video games and read, I like to play D&D (my inner nerd at his finest). I work 40 hours a week, and I'm trying to find time to go back to college in between. I've been interested in the occult for years (ever since my introduction to Wicca in high school), but nothing really fit until I stumbled upon an article about the IOT and Chaos Magic. I've sort of dabbled and messed around with magic ever since, I've gotten some results, enough to convince me that this is an Art worth further study. To this end, I bought a copy of Hands-On Chaos Magic, and started on page 1. I want to be the best magician I can be for my family and myself (plus, magic is just awesome, its' like a fusion of age-old ideas with the pinnacle of modern psychology, who wouldn't want to be a part of that?)

This is probably the third or fourth Internet forum I've ever joined, so if it takes me a while to get into a good posting flow, I'm sorry :)

Long Live Chaos,

That's a great start! :D Too many people find that too simplistsic- but it really is alot more difficult than it appears and is a vital part of ones practice (breath/body control- it is the foundation of inhibitory gnosis) It's also quite fun to play with different breathing patterns and body positions and really see how they affect you. ;)

One of the breathing practices I've found most influential was actually found on here (http://prismaticvortex.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=172) (in Anomaly's Vital/Death Force Banishing) the connected breathing method. Like he says there, I find that it springboards me into a trance state faster than the other breathing methods I've worked with (Thanks, Anomaly :D)

I like Japanese Anime, so I've started working my way through the ninja signs in Naruto, I like how each one resembles which animal of the zodiac it's supposed to represent, and in me invokes qualities I would associate with those animals.

My routine logging has told me I spend too much time with the video games, and that my life could use some extra stuffing outside of work and home.

I'd be happy to post a copy of the ritual as it comes along, for now though, it's nothing more than a statement of intent :P

As for me- well- I'm working on a multi-year personal transformation process that consists of daily meditations and interactions with a constructed 'ideal self'- regular use of sigil magic and other methods to help reinforce change in various small patterns (using sigils in this case somewhat like a cattle prod- keeping me on track to my end result). That's the big project of the hour anyway 8-)

 Wow, that sounds like a heck of a project!

@Anomaly,
I live in Western North Carolina, so not quite near Detroit, lol

Whats up A554551N1030,

Welcome to the Prismatic Vortex. It is a pleasure to meet you. Where exactly do you live? Anywhere near Detroit?

Feel free to jump in and make a name for yourself around here.

Not a great deal, I'm working mostly on extending the time I can focus on my body & breath patterns. I've been carefully tracking my routines, searching for energy drains and other destructive patterns that are surely extant in my life, and I'm working on a ritual to help me get a new job I've applied for, but that's still a little ways off. How about yourself?

Yes, keeping track of these things is VERY good. You'll be amazed at your progress if you read back after awhile. Its also great feedback to be able to see the incremental changes and see patterns that you may not pick up at first ;)

If you're working on a ritual and would like some feedback- feel free to post it for critique. No pressure- but you're welcome to do so and get some feedback from a number of highly qualified magicians here.

Re: Greetings

I like you already. 8-) *thumbs up* (chuckle)

So what all have you been working on lately?

Re: Greetings

Thanks for the welcome, I hope I can be of help as well though, instead of being a help leech :P

Re: Greetings

Welcome here! I can tell you with absolute confidence- if you work through Andrieh's book you'll definately develop solid skills. :D Nice to see you here- please make yourself at home in the forums- we also have a blog feature if you would like to journal through your progress through Hands On Chaos Magic. :D

Hope to see lots of interesting posts from you around the board!
