I have been doing daily LBRP rituals. I have applied for a job at a hypnosis center... and at the same time, the angels through a curve ball at me, and the curve ball was simple.

Do you do whats right or what's convenient even by your own ethical code? Do you take those bonds of temple work and group work seriously or are you a duesh ( Tuesday and Wednesday was all about this). The question of ethics is of course a contentious point especially with Chaos magicians, but as they say in IFA good character is the foundation at times. While there may be no ultimate truth, if you treat everyone as disposable, that means you are too. We don't work in a vacuum, and the notion of the rugged individual that does it all themselves is a antiquated belief. Really, one of the biggest criticisms you could leverage at most chaos magicians is that they are entirely selfish to a point that it is self destructive. This is why Chaos magic orders cant stay together ( becauase its all about ego). The alternative is just as bad, ( akaz if you sex before marriage you go to hell and similar values).

In this, I feel like there was no question to do the right thing here, but it raises questions doesn't it? I know a magician writing a book on ethics who regularly ( and I have proof) would use energy manipulation techniques to get woman to sleep with him while his girlfriend was there upset. I know another person who wants to write a book on pagan ethics and is scamming his grandmother who is dying out of money while in every way making her quality of life worse.

The same people who scream the loudest about "curses" and doing magic for stuff, seem to be the most henious in their lives. I tell my students do whatever they think is right, its all we can do. Once you get rid of alot of the garbage inside and the conditioned reactions , I mostly think people will do whats "right" in their own ethics, but htat isnt always nice either or political correct... but it is usually just.

Sometimes, the spirits you work with will see if you will do what you know is right by what you understand, or just convenient. Whether or not they are real or inside your mind, they will hold you to it... books by people to make money telling you what is right and wrong wont help you, really only your actions will.
