Morning: Shango work. I can without a doubt say I have opened myself up to the Chango energy. I did some more work in the morning. Shango exists in Haitian Vodou, as a Rada and in some cases Petro Lwa. Usually, Haitians will work with Ogun Feri, but the connotation and struggle between Shango and Ogun isn't there in Vodou. Haitian Vodou is much more a mix then Lucami and of course New Orleans Vodou is even more a mix ( which I am still more and more digging).

Anyway, I get the vibe, I really do. I am not going to say what I did this morning, but I am riding high I will say that its definitely not a natural component in my personality, but Shango has always had a soft spot in his heart for me... since I have extremely tight as in holy crap batman tight, relationships with a Elegua ( and Legba and the host of names there is), one of the few Orisha/Lwa he respects.

Two things. If your doing New Orleans Style Vodou, you NEED.. and I mean NEED to when working with Shango, balance it out with Workign with Obatala. Damaballah will also work ( although contrary to what Santeria priests believe, Obatala does have a place as a LWA in Haitian Vodou. Damballah does not equal Obatala). The reason for this has to do with the nature of the vibe. Shango is fiery, tempers flair often out of control. Keep in mind, this is the opinion of a Vodou priest, not an intiated Santero ( but you out there who are can comment), and the opinion of a practicing magician. This is probably not how "its done" correctly, but in practice I am ABSOLUTELY sure, you'll get better results.

To combine that fiery male power, with the clear headedness of Obatala might seem like opposites, but in some myths Obatala is the father of Shango. Having a clear head, with the lightning force of Shango is in fact tempering the force with clear motion. Instead of wasted energy on tempers.... now its the clear headed DIRECTED force. This is a very power combination, and while they seem opposites, it will be tempered. It keeps the arrogance in check, while providing the male "energy", the projective force to really push forward. This is the equivalent of focusing an energy source into a directed laser.

Conversations with various LWA while you are sleeping is great, especially when you get great information that you can use. I am be working on that combination real soon.
