Something that Worked for Me

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but I looked at the other topics and nothing else seemed to fit.

I came home from work last night with back cramps (I do some lifting at my job, and it gets to me some nights). So I laid down in bed, began Lamaze Breathing (from chapter 3 in Hands-On Chaos Magic), and visualized a soft blue light (a color that I find soothing) working its' way down my spine (as it moved downward, hearing the vertebrae snap into place and feeling the pop when it corrected), once I reached the bottom of my spine, the pain was gone!

I created this using what I had learned from other systems along with the foundational breathing & relaxation techniques in Hands-On Chaos Magic.

Ah, just internal circulation. Oftentimes it helps to understand the why as much as the how, especially if it is something that ‘worked’ aka is worth building upon. That way others can play too.

Of course, and I'm glad you questioned me on it, too often we forget the importance of why it worked in the excitement that it worked at all :D

That sounds similar to some of the healing work I do. Depending on which part of the body I am healing I will vibrate a vowel sound activating the chakra closest to the part of the body which needs healing. I then project energy from the chakra to the area which needs healing. After a few times doing this I can heal a well work with area instantly.

That's a good method! If I had put any thought at all into the system I used, I may well have involved the chakras.

I'm absolutely certain that was the case, but I question the use of the word fresh, lol :)

Absolutely, it reminds me of something from a Phil Hine essay, The Magic of Need (I believe it's in Permutations)

I do not think that it is the method which you used but simply the fact that you used a method. You were also fresh off of a ten hour shift so exhaustion probably made it fairly easy to slip into a trance/gnostic state which we all know is vital to any act of magic, even healing magic.

Ah, just internal circulation. Oftentimes it helps to understand the why as much as the how, especially if it is something that ‘worked’ aka is worth building upon. That way others can play too.

Re: Something that Worked for Me

Well, not so much a dumping of energy into my body as a conscious direction of my natural energies into an area where they could do the most good, I think.

However, I had just come off a 10 hour shift and it was 3am, so I admit I wasn't as worried about the why as much as the how.

Re: Something that Worked for Me

Now is this basically a “I’m dumping energy into my body” ritual when you did it, or more of a “I’m channeling energy to specifically heal my back”?
