I see a lot of rituals. Maybe too many, I get invited to alot. People generally like my energy ( and the large amount of it ). One problem I notice is that alot of the time people voice out the words and expect the magic to just work. Lots of emphasis is put on scripts, and reading those scripts.

Well if you have read or even skimmed Hands On Chaos Magic, you know I take a dim view of those type of rituals and have publicly critiqued them. Why? Because I want all of you to really connect to the divine as you perceive it, and/or get the magic to work. Yes Get your magic to work.

Why do I critique them

... because the words are not enough.

Peter Carroll one said, that any ritual that you can not remember is too complicated. I mostly agree with Peter. The reason, you can not maintain a trance state WHILE reading from a script. To explain why it is, lets take a concept from Hypno-Energerics, my next book which I am working on.

Words themselves, are merely symbols. Symbols which when not given permission to run free, are checked by the "merely" words limitation. This is actually a limitation of language as we currently use it. Lets face it... if I mention the word "LOVE"... most of you might have a pleasant reaction, or a little smile.

If I however,

ask you to remember all the times you were in love, and then detail out the sensations .... what you felt, saw, heard, smelled even tasted..... your mind starts generating those... and for most of you ( but not all), that sensation is even greater.

What is that like right now, if you did that even while reading this. In how many ways can you feel hear see and smell even taste LOVE right now.

This is a simple NLP trick to attenuate to the Word. However, you might have even noticed even reading and changing your thinking, how much more powerful the thoughts were.

At the recent Andrieh Vitimus's Reality Manipulation Boot Camp, we did a lot of this sort of conditioning, including adding physical gestures that served as gestural anchors to a state.

Including these sensory information, for most people ( there are exceptions), will cause the brain to create the emotion. Overwhelming the brain, with sensory details in the imagination, forces the limiter to shut down, and the mind with no conscious limiter ( in hypnosis, we call this the Critical Factor, in magic, the psychic sensor ) releases a neuro-transmitter soup that causes the body to react a certain way. Allowing this to continue, the body very quickly and in every way recreates that state right then.

Lets go back to the LOVE.

You might notice how quickly if you keep going back to the memories and imagine what it would be like if you felt that way right now,

Feel that LOVE right now. Keep going with it for a minute or a few. We all can imagine how wonderful that awesome set of sensations can feel and how quickly we can feel it right now.

Now whats the difference between "love" and removing the limiters to express that vibration of "LOVE". Simply put, throwing the word around by itself, is not the full impact of the symbol which is far more powerful then the word itself.

Similarly, the name of a God, Goddess, Spirit, or Entity, is in fact, just a symbol. The symbol by itself, while important, isn't meant to be a stand in for a vibration. To mean something, the name itself has to represent a set of internalized sensory data, memories, and experiences. The name itself by itself, well, that may have some power in some circumstances... but usually not. Its the vibration of the name from the wellspring of personal expression through removing the limiter: The full expression of the name within ourselves is our biologically enabled mechanism produces the power or if you prefer, attracts the spirits to come into the circle.

This idea of a full body vibration gets to what the words can not themselves produce while in an everyday consciousness.

This is a a complete mental state change.

You could say to do it with passion, but really, its not so much passion per se, but that reproduction of the wellspring of subconscious understanding that the world implies ( albeit technically incorrect, passion is appropriate ). Technically, if you were recreating all of the sensations you understand about an entity, simply put, you might not be able to read the script, and yet.....

Sure enough, Id bet the entity would feel around.

Take a few moments and try this,

in how many ways and how quickly can you think about your favorite spirit, or concept.

In how many ways, can you just run with it, feeling, seeing and hearing the spirit.......

Feels good does it not?

Now, next time you go to call a diety in a ritual. Spend less time on the "words" of the ritual, and instead work on the full vibe across all the senses. Don't just mention your spirits in passing in a ritual,

try

the Full body and sensory Vibration, when you call them.

And don't be afraid to do it for more then 5 mintues, ( maybe even 20 minutes).

And that my friends, is the point. They are after all, waiting for us to connect.
